Am 3. Oktober 2003, seinem 59. Geburtstag, wurde Roy Horn vom Magier-Duo Siegfried und Roy mitten in der berühmten Las Vegas Show von seinem weißen Tiger Montecore lebensgefährlich verletzt. Siegfried & Roy waren das erfolgreichste Illusionistenpaar der Welt. Sie traten gemeinsam seit 44 Jahren auf, spielten in ihrer Karriere vor 40 Millionen Zuschauern und hatten insgesamt über 20.000 Auftritte. Alleine im Mirage traten sie seit 1990 über 5.750 mal auf. Für das Weihnachtsfest 2003 kehrte Roy nach Hause zurück und unterzieht sich dort einer Rehabilitationsbehandlung. Am 18. Mai 2004 strahlte das US Fernsehen das erste TV-Interview mit Roy und Siegfried aus, am 15. September folgte ein neues, großes Interview mit Maria Shriver, der Frau von Arnold Schwarzenegger. Im deutschen Fernsehen wurde am 16. September ein Interview mit Frauke Ludowig gezeigt. Seit dem 31. August lief auf NBC in den USA die Zeichentrickfilmserie "The Father of the Pride", in dem Siegfried & Roy und ihre Löwen die Hauptrolle spielen. Am 3. Oktober 2004 feierte Roy seinen 60. Geburtstag im Mirage - exakt ein Jahr nach seinem Unfall auf der gleichen Bühne. Im Januar 2005 verbrachten Siegfried und Roy in Mexiko ihren ersten Urlaub seit dem Unfall. Am 3. Oktober 2006, Roys 62. Geburtstag, wurde vor ihrer vor dem Mirage stehenden Statue auf dem "Walk of Stars" in Las Vegas ein Stern enthüllt.  On Oct. 3, his 59th birthday, Roy Horn of the duo Siegfried and Roy was badly injured by his tiger Montecore during their famous Las Vegas show.
Siegfried & Roy were the most successful illusionist duo of the world. Together they perfomed 20,000 times in 44 years in front of 40 million people. At the Mirage they had 5,750 shows since they started there in 1990. For Christmas 2003 Roy had returned home and is currently undergoing re-hab treatment. On May 18, 2004 US-TV aired the first interview with Siegfried & Roy, followed by an interview with Maria Shriver on September 15. German TV showed an interview on September 16. Since August 31 NBC broadcasted the animated series "The Father of the Pride", starring Siegfried & Roy and their lions. On October 3, 2004 Roy celebrated his 60th birthday at the Mirage, on the same stage the accident took place one year ago. In January 2005 Siegfried and Roy spent their first vacation since the accident in Mexico. On October 3, 2006, a Walk of Stars induction ceremony in the shadow of their three-story-high statue in front of The Mirage, Las Vegas, took place.
